Election Day Set Up! WE ARE HONORED TO HAVE HAD OUR EQUIPMENT PLAY A PIVOTAL ROLE IN GIVING A VOICE TO AMERICA. – NOVEMBER 2020

November 3rd, 2020, 5:00am Fedex Field – PG County’s DPW&T used their 300 series Traffic Pro Bed to set up on the dawn of election day for voters. With their new Ver-Mac VMS Board installed, PG County workers were well equipped to brave the cold darkness of the election day morning during their set up. Easily visible and shielded to all passing vehicles.

On the 21st of August, PG County MTD set-up one of FedEx Field’s massive parking lots for the Redskin’s Annual Fundraiser. Loaded with 250 cones, their Traffic Pro Bed was MTD staff’s premier choice for handling this popular event. With the Traffic Pro Bed, these PGC staff were able to both deploy and retrieve all 250 cones for this specialty event in approximately 1.5 hours, saving them an estimated 30 minutes to allocate to other tasks.

During our visit to PG County we were able to get some preliminary reviews of the traffic pro bed from the MTD staff. Since the truck bed’s delivery in July, MTD staff find their Traffic Pro Bed very helpful. Relative to the standard traffic control vehicle, these workers found the Traffic Pro Bed’s upgraded system, including its cone drive, definitely helped decrease the time spent on a job and increased overall efficiency. The new PG County Traffic Pro Bed, pictured to the left, is loaded with 250 cones and the PG County MTD emblem, poised to help set up for the Redskin’s annual back to school event at FexEx field.

While expressing his excitement for the new addition to the fleet, Ed Jones, one of the county’s driving forces in adopting the innovation, said about the truck bed, “Once the others see it, they (the other county districts will want one.”

For their first of two truck beds, Prince George’s County’s opted for Traffic Pro Beds’ more recent upgrade – it’s patented Cone Drive system. This feature allows workers easy access to every cone on the bed during a standard job, without the assistance of another worker. Increasing work force efficiency on the bed by 33%, with no cuts to the bed’s innovative safety measures.
